Chant: The Human & The Human & The Holy (stylized as CHANT: The Human & The Holy) is the fourteenth studio album by American country, pop, rock singer, LeAnn Rimes. Released on November 20, 2020 by her label EverLe Records, the album consists of chant music that is meant to be uplifting and to bring hope.
Background, promotion and release[]
The album was first announced by Rimes on her social media on November 16, along with the album's track listing.[1] The album was released on November 20, 2020.[2] The album includes songs that are, according to Rimes, "mantras and messages of hope and remembrance."[3]
In an interview with Billboard, Rimes stated the album "came up for me in the middle of making my next album. While meditating, melodies and words would rise up for me, and I would hit record on my phone and go back to meditating thinking they were something for my album. I recognized later that the pieces of songs were actually self-contained chants, and I felt responsible that they should see the light of day."[4] All the songs were written by Rimes and long time co-writer Darrell Brown.[5]
"Sing Love into the World" was released on November 18, 2020 as the first single off the album.[6] "My Heart" premiered on Rimes' YouTube channel on the same day.[7]
